2018 Power Up

First Power Up is a video game themed competition in which alliances gather “Power Cubes” to gain control of the Scale and Switches. Teams may also remove cubes from play by putting them into the “Exchange.” Human operators can then use the stored cubes to activate power ups to earn more points. In the “End game,” robots attempt to climb the scale to “defeat the boss” and gain victory.

 


2017 Steamworks

FIRST Steamworks is a competition to prepare the alliance’s airship better than the opposing airship. To reach this objective, robots may “fuel” in the boiler, pass gears to the airship, and climb the airship at the end of the match. This is all to gather the most “steam” and turn the most “rotors” in order to gain the most points and achieve victory.

 


2016 Stronghold

FIRST Stronghold is a multi-terrain game based with three allied robots on each team. The objectives being to destroy the other team’s defenses by passing over 4/5 of their obstacles twice, capturing their castle, and heisting the bots to the top of the castle wall. Teams can play defensively or offensively, and many unique solutions can be used for victory.

 


2015 Recycle Rush

Recycle Rush is a recycling-themed competition with three allied robots on each team. Robots can score by stating totes and recycling containers on platforms and placing the pool noodles inside of the recycling bins. Teams win once they have received the largest amount of points scored through stacking patters.

 


2014 Aerial Assist

Aerial Assist is a ball projectile themed game with two alliances of three robots trying to score goals with their yoga balls. The goals are five feet above the ground floor and the more the robots score within the opponents goals the more points they gain at the end of the match.

 


2013 Ultimate Ascent

Ultimate Ascent is a frisbee/disc projectile themed game with two alliances of three robots trying to score goals with their discs. The more points they gain from the scored disc are added, however at the end of the match robots may climb to a pyramid like object to score additional points.
